Born and raised in Bangor, Maine, I am a recent graduate of the University of Maine where I studied Earth & Climate Sciences with a minor in Astronomy. I was a six-term NASA intern and recently completed a Postbaccalaureate Research Assistantship at NASA GSFC. Beyond science, I am a flautist and enjoy crocheting, watching Boston sports, and exploring the blue marble we call home.
I'm interested in the study of exoplanets and their systems using theoretical modeling and transit spectroscopy. Particularly, my research applies Earth systems processes to Earth-like exoplanets to characterize surface-atmospheric interactions and their implications in the search for life. In consort with this work, I'm also interested in space policy and the political implications of the search for life.
I took a variety of courses across STEM and the Humanities as an undergraduate at the University of Maine, with an emphasis placed on Geology and Astronomy. Outside of coursework I held multiple Astronomy-related positions as a Learning and Teaching Assistant and Planetarium Show Presenter.
